DJI already made it easy to start flying FPV with the DJI FPV drone, now the DJI Avata makes Cinewhoop-style flying possible for anyone without the knowledge of building a drone. This package combines almost everything in the world of drone flying, at least from a videographer's perspective. Avata now allows FPV flying indoors and in small confined spaces, as the first DJI FPV already allowed outdoors.<\/p>\n
Wide-angle stabilized video<\/p>\n
The Avata is equipped with a 48MP 1\/1.7\u2033 CMOS sensor, enabling 4K shooting at up to 100fps. The camera's 12.7mm focal length provides a very wide 155\u00b0 view. Image stabilisation is handled by two softwares , RockSteady 2.0 EIS and HorzonSteady EIS. Rocksteady EIS eliminates camera shake while HorizonSteady EIS stabilizes the horizon.<\/p>\n
The Avata offers an ultra-wide 155 degree view and the new DJI Goggles 2 give a very cool flying experience in itself. The great strength of the goggles is the ultra-bright image, the adjustability of the goggles and the wireless receiver. The goggles receive the image to the DJI O3+ system via dual-band Wi-Fi 5 (802.11ac) and a full charge lasts up to two hours. Image quality is clear and lifelike and you can adjust the glasses to match your view with an adjustable diopter with a range of +2.0 to -8.0. The 2T2R multi-directional antennas allow you to feed the glasses with 1080p video at up to 100 frames per second. With a latency of only a negligible 30 milliseconds at 50Mb\/s data rate. The image on the glasses is compressed with H.265 to save storage space, with a maximum transmission distance of almost 10km.<\/p>\n
Downward-facing obstacle detection sensors work together to detect obstacles on the ground during flight. This allows pilots to fly safely at low altitude and indoors. The helicopter is equipped with an emergency brake button that allows the Avata to stop moving and correct itself into hover mode. The helicopter also features the familiar (RTH - Return to home) command, which allows the helicopter to return to its starting position by itself. This is also activated when the battery power drops to a low level or the signal between the glasses and the helicopter is lost. Avata is also equipped with a Turtle mode that automatically turns the helicopter right side up when the helicopter has fallen to the ground upside down. The Avata is made to withstand bumps and crashes. The propellers are protected by propeller guards and the fuselage can absorb shocks from several directions. But everything is notoriously breakable, so be sure to check the laws and licensing requirements before you fly.<\/p>\n
This kit comes with DJI's Motion control controller, which is controlled by a twist of the wrist and all the control commands are at your fingertips. The device is also compatible with the FOV Remote Controller 2 and the previous FPV Goggles V2.<\/p>\n
