The Kowa TSN-88S Prominar is a straight-view nature spotting scope with an 88 mm front lens made from pure fluorite crystal. It is ideal for birdwatching and observing other aspects of nature, as well as for digiscoping, where colour reproduction and detail are of the utmost importance. The optical coating has been applied not only to the lenses but also to the prism, which improves light transmission and makes the colour reproduction broader and more true-to-life than in the previous model. For example, more shades are now visible in the dark plumage of a bird than before.<\/p>\n The 95 mm filter thread integrated into the body eliminates the gap between the front lens and the filter, which reduces the amount of dirt reaching the lens and prevents reflections. Kowa\u2019s KR coating repels dirt, moisture and dust. The barrel is made entirely from a magnesium alloy, making the lens lighter and more durable than the previous TSN-880, and its design is based on the ergonomics of the TSN-99 series.<\/p>\n In the dual-focus system, the quick-focus mechanism locates the subject in just a few turns, whilst the fine-focus mechanism fine-tunes the sharpness with fingertip precision. The accessory collar and bayonet mount are fully compatible with Kowa System accessories, such as the 25\u201360x TE-11WZ II and 35x TE-80XW eyepieces, the EX-16 1.6x extender and digiscoping adapters.
