Nikon Coolpix P950\u00a0<\/strong>is a new \u201dbudget-friendly\u201d megazoom for people who want a camera that can do it all. If photography itself isn\u2019t your main interest, you can also use the camera as a handy telescope \u2013 one that\u2019s hard to find a rival for. With a staggering 35mm equivalent focal length range of 24\u20132000mm (83x), it offers limitless possibilities for a variety of angles. Even with such an extreme focal length range, the lens still boasts an f\/2.8 aperture at the wide end and a reasonable f\/5.6 at the telephoto end. The image stabiliser has also been made more effective, offering up to 5x vibration reduction. The camera can be operated via a clear, large OLED viewfinder or a tilting LCD screen.<\/p>\n

Nikon\u2019s latest innovations in video recording are also evident in the Nikon Coolpix P950 camera. Video is recorded in 4K format at 30 frames per second, and in Full HD at 60 frames per second. An external microphone can also be connected to the camera for better audio recording.<\/p>\n

As the lens is located behind the motorised zoom, it drains the batteries so quickly that we recommend Nikon EN-EL20a<\/a> spare batteries for the camera.<\/p>\n
