Godox Ad400 Pro - The Godox winning streak continues
The Godox AD400 Pro, the latest TTL and HSS functional cordless flash tickles the fancy of flash enthusiasts in just the right way. This new flash is a highly anticipated flash with a staggering Godox AD600 Pro:s little sister. Once again, the flash has proven features such as steering detection (Sony, Olympus, Canon, Nikon, Fuji) on 2.4 Ghz transmitters, HSS up to 1/8000 speeds and so on. The new 400Ws flash recharges in 0.9 seconds at full power, and the 21.6 volt, 2600mAh battery pack juts up to 390 full fjong flashes.
- The flash needs a radio transmitter, the receiver is built into the flash itself. For the transmitter we recommend Godox Xpro Transmission
- The Godox AD400 Pro is also available equipped with Elinchrome on top
The modelling light is super bright at 30 watts, and the flash has stable colour temperature fixity.

I've already bought a third one. Easy to use and powerful enough for larger spaces or outdoors. Installing the Bowens adapter is a bit of a screwdriver fiddle, but then you have an unlimited number of light modifiers. A good carrying case keeps the flash intact even when transporting it for milieu shots.
The perfect complement to the AD200 salamander. There is just enough more power to be able to shoot outside with slightly larger softboxes.
I had an AD200Pro before this, which I thought would be fine for outdoor shooting with handheld flashes. Then I started looking into what else Godox had to offer on the battery flashlight front. I ended up ordering this one based on the good price/quality ratio and positive user reviews. And now I have to say that I made the right choice with the flash. Handy size, sturdy carrying case, easy to use...and above all, the power of the flash is enough for even the most challenging conditions. Not forgetting the Bowens adapter, which greatly increases the number of light modifiers.
Handy and efficient also for outdoor use. Unlike the previous review, the flash fits in a bag with a Bowens collar. So Godox must have been listening to its customers.
I've used Godox AD200s for shooting, but in daylight they didn't really deliver. This AD400 has proved to be very capable and yet, at a reasonable size, still travels comfortably in the field for model shoots. It has enough power for my needs. The Bowens mount is quick and easy to use. If one could wish for something, the included bag could be shaped in such a way that the flash could be stored in it with the Bowens frame in place.
