The Lencarta 40cm Medium Beauty Dish creates high-contrast light. Beauty Dishes create a distinctive light pattern on the subject, providing a circular catch light in the subject’s eyes, and the relative harshness of the light is popular in the fashion world for emphasising facial bone structure and skin tones. A diffuser is included in the pack. The diffuser is quick to attach, and once in place, the light passing through it is even softer – a beautiful glow comparable to that of a softbox. Simply stretch the elastic strap over and around the outer edge of the beauty dish to achieve softer light in a matter of seconds.

Built-in deflector. Inside the beauty dish is a fixed deflector that reflects direct light back inwards, filling the shallow bowl and pushing the light forwards, thereby producing high-contrast lighting without hotspots.

Parabolic light. This beauty dish is designed to be parabolic, producing a more directional light than usual. When used with a parabolic deflector, the light emerges as semi-hard, though this can of course be softened with a diffuser, or further directed using a honeycomb grid.
