The OM System m.Zuiko Digital ED 150–400mm F4.5 TC1.25X IS Pro boasts an incredibly long focal length; it is what is known as a super-telephoto zoom. The lens has a built-in 1.25X teleconverter. Designed for MFT cameras, this zoom is equivalent, in cinema camera terms, to a massive 300–800mm lens, which can be extended further with teleconverters. The constant f/4.5 aperture ensures consistent exposure across the entire zoom range. There is no loss of light until f/5.6 when the internal teleconverter is in use. Furthermore, the lens incorporates specialised low-dispersion elements with high light transmission. Sharpness is excellent across the entire zoom range. The Z Nano coating eliminates reflections and haze.

The downside of such a vast zoom range is that it has a significant impact on lens movement, and with this in mind, the lens features an internal image stabiliser. Photos and videos remain sharp even at the extremes of the zoom range. The image stabilisation system works in conjunction with the sensor-shift stabilisation, resulting in powerful image stabilisation that exceeds your expectations. The lens naturally features a tripod collar, and as this is a Pro-grade lens, the weather sealing is of the highest quality.

This integrated 1.25x telephoto extender extends the focal length to 187.5–500 millimetres (or 375–1000 mm in 35 mm equivalent) by turning the lever. The extension is optically on the same level as the lens itself, and weather sealing remains intact despite its use. When the extension is in use, the minimum aperture is f/5.6.

The optical formula comprises: one EDA (extra-low dispersion aspherical) element, four Super ED (extra-low dispersion) elements, two ED elements, two HR (high refractive index) elements, and one HD element.

Z Coating Nano keeps interference at bay.

The focus limiter restricts the focus range to either 1.3 metres – 6 metres or 1.3 – infinity, or 6 metres – infinity. This allows you to maximise the focus response depending on the subject.

There are Focus Hold buttons all around the lens barrel, so you can quickly access the function of your choice.

The body is made from a magnesium alloy with carbon fibre parts, and the lens weighs a mere 1.86 kilograms and is 31.5 centimetres long. Incredibly, you can even take photos with this lens handheld.

Compatible with the MC-14 1.4x and MC-20 2.0x teleconverters.
