New features in Mark II

USB-C charger: The OM-5 Mark II has a USB-C port for both efficient charging and fast photo and video transfers. The port also allows you to charge the camera on the move using separately sold portable power banks.

Button for computational photography: This button is located at the top of the camera next to the shutter release and gives the user direct access to many creative tools such as High-Res Shot, Live ND, Focus Stacking, HDR and Multiple Exposure modes without having to go into the menu.

New filming facilities: Two new creative shooting modes are designed specifically for low-light shooting. Night Vision mode brings out details in the dark, making both the night sky and foreground subjects clearly visible. Hand Held Assist helps you assess the stability of long exposures taken hand-held in real time.

New colour profiles: OM-5 includes two new video colour profiles, OM Cinema 1 & 2, which help users achieve a cinematic look to videos without special processing or grading.

OM SYSTEM menu: The OM-5 Mark II features the company's latest menu system, which has been widely praised for its intuitive arrangement of features and settings. It's easy to understand, even for first-timers.

Image quality and camera design

20.4MP Live MOS Sensor and TruePic IX Image Processor: Thanks to the original 20.4MP Live MOS sensor and TruePic IX image processor, you can enjoy fast shooting performance, ISO 25600 sensitivity, 4K video capture capabilities and continuous shooting speeds of up to 30 frames per second in Pro Capture mode.

121-point lattice-type phase detection AF: The advanced autofocus system combines 121 phase detection AF points and 121 contrast detection AF points for fast and accurate focusing. All 121 phase detection points are cross-type, improving accuracy in mixed lighting and providing better tracking.

5-axis sensor shift image stabilisation: In-body, sensor-transferred image stabilisation reduces camera shake up to 6.5 apertures when using any lens and compensates for camera movement, which is particularly noticeable when shooting telephoto, macro and long exposure images.

DCI and UHD 4K Video Recording and OM-Log400: The sensor and processor support both DCI (4096 x 2160) and UHD (3840 x 2160) 4K movie recording. In DCI mode, a true 24p frame rate is used, while UHD 4K is available at up to 30p frame rate.

Additional features

Creative shooting spaces: The OM-5 Mark II features many creative shooting modes, including Night Mode and Hand Held Assist, Live ND 16 mode, Focus stacking mode, High-Res Shot mode, Live Composite mode and Vertical Video mode.

Weatherproof: The IP53-rated OM-5 Mark II offers excellent weather resistance and can withstand the most demanding conditions. The camera is resistant to frost, dust and splashes and can be used in temperatures down to -10°C.

Structure and connections: A high-resolution 2.36m-dot electronic viewfinder allows eye-level tracking and clear, undistorted viewing. The 3.0" 1.04m-dot LCD screen on the back features a multi-angle design to support working from different angles, and is also a touchscreen for intuitive menu navigation and image playback.

Compatibility: The camera is compatible with Micro Four Thirds (M43) lenses. The body has an image stabilizer with a power of 6.5 aperture value and 7.5 Sync IS with compatible lenses. M.zuiko Digital 12-45mm f/4 Pro

The Olympus M.zuiko Digital 12-45mm f/4 Pro covers the familiar focal length range of 24-90mm with cinema size equivalents. Its continuous f/4 maximum aperture is a strike at the balance between small size and moderate aperture.

Inside the body are inlaid all kinds of glass to correct all kinds of errors in image quality. Colour distortion, barrel blurring and so on. The images are accurate, and colour faithful. ZERO coating finishes off flare and ghosting marks. Contrast is thus good even in backlit situations.

The optics are mated to a video and still compatible autofocus system that is fast and fluid, not to mention quiet. Maximum magnification of 0.25x throughout the zoom range makes it easy to work with close objects. In addition, the glass is weatherproofed for harsh conditions.
