The Quadralite Deep Hexadecagon 90cm Softbox is a parabolic and highly directional light modifier. Unlike a traditional octabox, it has a rounder shape, which creates more pleasing reflections and soft, flowing shadows. The depth of the softbox helps to direct the light, reduces light spill and creates a higher-contrast light. Deep octaboxes and parabolic softboxes are ideal for portrait and still life photography.
The product is a quick-fold with a shade mechanism, i.e. it is pushed open like an umbrella. The box is ready to shoot in less than a minute, and the same works the other way round.

A sturdy box, ideal for gigs and studio use. Good light distribution and ”flaring”. It can even support a boom arm with the AD400 attached, just about.
The softbox produced a good light output. It’s easy to set up and feels sturdy. I was surprised by how heavy it is, though. It tips over very easily if you’re shooting outdoors without sandbags. There’s nothing wrong with the product as such, but it isn’t the most suitable for my particular use. For studio photography, however, it works perfectly!
