The world's first F1.8 zoom lens with F1.8 aperture. Sigma's new Art series, a high-tech, quality lens for APS-C cameras (equivalent to a focal length of approx. 27mm - 52.5mm, depending on the camera). This lens virtually replaces several fixed focal length lenses (20-/24-/28-/30-/35 mm).

The large F1.8 aperture allows you to blur the background of the subject. You can see everything brighter and sharper through the viewfinder as soon as you take the picture. The lens' five SLD (Special Low Dispersion) glass elements compensate for colour dispersion (aberration) caused by light exposure. Four aspherical lens elements provide maximum correction against dispersion and distortion, enabling high optical image quality throughout the focal length range. The lens features multiple lens coatings and an internal floating focus system. The HSM autofocus motor (ultrasonic motor) focuses quickly and quietly.

The lens is also compatible with Sigma USB dock to update the lens firmware and fine-tune its features.

This ultra-bright zoom lens opens up new possibilities for all types of studio, personal, landscape and fine art photography. The large aperture also makes it ideal for indoor shooting.

“The Sigma 18-35mm F1.8 DC HSM is an extraordinary lens, offering prime-level image quality in the fastest zoom ever made for SLRs. Its 28-50mm equivalent range is a little limiting though, and inconsistent autofocus means that it can be difficult to make the most of the excellent optics when shooting at large apertures.
