SmallRig Cage for Atomos Ninja V 2209 is designed in conjunction with Atomos to provide additional protection Atomoksen Ninja V around the monitor. The frame has a wide range of industry standard mounting points. The cage attaches to the monitor with 1/4’’-20 screws on the top and two M3 screws on the left side. The entire top and bottom of the cage are threaded with several 1/4’’-20 and 3/8’’-16 threads. The bottom of the cage also has Arri guide points. The top and bottom of the cage are made in the shape of a Nato rail, allowing the attachment of various SmallRig accessories such as the SmallRig Ball Head Magic Arm 2071 or 2072 for quick release. The cage comes with one HDMI clamp that fits most cables, of course sized specifically for AtomFlex 4k 60p cables. If required, a second SmallRig HDMI Cable Clamp 1693 can be attached to the cage for HDMI output. It attaches to the left edge to protect the cable and port. For backwards compatibility with the Atomos Master Caddy II reel, the cage has Drive locks that fit the shape of the old-style hard drives. The top and bottom have raised attachment points for the carrying strap and Atomos Ninja V sunshield. The cage is compatible with the original Atomos sunshield, but SmallRig also has a similar SmallRig Sun Hood 2269.

Recorders are the kind of devices that you don't always feel confident can withstand a rough ride. With this simple add-on you don't have to think about that. The structure is significantly stiffened and impacts to the outer frame are not a problem. I'm not saying that Atomos' ingenious little recorder isn't sturdy in itself, but safe is always safe. Why not ensure continuity of production when it's fairly easy to achieve with a little accessory like this.
