Experience the brilliant features of Sony's latest camera innovations: the newly developed ultra-fast and accurate Phase Detection Hybrid Auto Focus, AF/AE tracking in 12 FPS continuous shooting mode, 5-axis image stabilisation integrated into the body and advanced 4K video functions.

• Sony's Translucent Mirror enables patented AF system
  A hybrid AF system based on phase detection, consisting of two AF sensors, is possible thanks to Translucent Mirror technology. The 79-point AF sensor detects depth of field, while the image sensor's 399-point focal plane AF sensor covers a wider area. During continuous shooting, AF captures virtually invisible movement to the human eye at up to 12 fps.
• Accurate 79-point hybrid autofocus
  79 point-of-sight hybrid AF effectively captures the target. The 79 points of the phase detection AF are for horizontal detection and the 399 points of the focal plane phase detection AF are for vertical detection. In addition, the focal plane phase detection AF sensor has a separate phase detection AF area, so the 79 points serve as selectable hybrid AF points. Thanks to cross-type metering, focusing is fast in almost all situations.

  Boost your shooting performance with three autofocus features - Twilight Mode, Enhanced Target Tracking and Eye AF.
• Stunning high accuracy
  The α99 II features a 35mm, 42.4 megapixel back-illuminated full-size CMOS sensor that produces high-resolution images with high sensitivity, virtually no noise and a wide dynamic range. Its ISO standard range of 100 - 25600 is extendable up to ISO 50 - 102400.
• The benefits of a backlit image sensor
  A backlit image sensor with AR coating and a gapless micro-lens structure enhances light collection. Light enters the cell evenly, regardless of the central or peripheral areas of the lens.
  As efficient as a 4.5-step faster shutter speed
  Shooting should be as stable as possible to minimise blur caused by camera shake. That's why the α99 II's high resolution has been optimised by the 5-axis SteadyShot INSIDE image stabilisation integrated into the body and fine-tuned to match its 42.4 megapixel performance. Zoom in on distant subjects and capture clear close-ups and night shots or videos.
• High resolution Super 35 mm
  The α99 II records 4K video in Super 35 mm format. During the sampling process, approximately 1.8 times the amount of data needed to produce 4K video is collected, so the depth and dimension of the images is realistic.
• Extensive functionality for easy use and reliability
  The ergonomics of the new α99 II are in a class of their own. Thanks to the adaptation of the internal structure and the smaller size of the 5-axis image stabilisation system, the redesigned body is 8 % smaller than the α99. With attention to the smallest details, the new camera offers excellent usability and a robust but compact body.
