The Sony FX5 is a full-size video camera from the Cinema Line range, designed for demanding film production, advertising, content creation and B-camera use. The Sony XLR-H2 Handle Unit included in this set adds professional audio connections directly to your filming kit.

New stacked sensor and wide dynamic range

The 16.6-megapixel stacked full-frame sensor enables fast readout speeds, 5K video recording and a dynamic range of up to 16 stops. Triple Base ISO sensitivities of 800, 4000 and 12800 help maintain image quality in a variety of lighting conditions.

Open Gate and in-house RAW production

5K Open Gate 3:2 recording provides greater cropping flexibility, for example for different aspect ratios and anamorphic work. The FX5 is the first camera in the FX series to record internal 16-bit X-OCN RAW video at LT, C1 and C2 compression levels without the need for an external recorder.

Professional photography equipment

CineAlta-style menus, the OSD Black display, and monitoring tools such as false colour, waveform, vector and focus map support precise exposure and focus on set. The BIONZ XR2 processor and a dedicated AI processor enable Sony’s latest subject-recognition-based autofocus.
