Description
Successor to the legendary Tamron 90mm Macro lens The optical design includes one LD (Low Dispersion) special glass element to reduce light scattering and two XLD (eXtra Low Dispersion) glass elements to further improve light dispersion. The special elements effectively eliminate lateral chromatic aberration, among other chromatic aberrations, from macro to infinity. In addition, the floating lens design allows for the best image quality when focusing at different distances. The new 90mm macro lens delivers superb image quality from 1:1 close-ups to the distant horizon.
Upgraded VC image stabilizer Tamron's highly acclaimed VC (Vibration Compensation) image stabilizer combined with an accelerometer eliminates vibration in the vertical and horizontal directions. Together with the gyroscope sensor, the accelerometer effectively detects and compensates for camera movement, stabilising the image at all focusing distances.
USD focus optimised for macro distances The Ultrasonic Silent Drive (USD) focusing motor has been significantly improved, making focusing faster and more accurate. USD focus quickly eliminates the blur caused by camera movement, common in macro photography, and produces better focused images in close-up areas.
Moisture and dust-proof construction Any leaks in the lens switches, focus ring and lens body are protected by special seals. These provide better protection against dirt, dust and moisture than Tamron's previous weather protection. This additional protection allows the lens to be used in a wider range of applications than ever before.
Durable fluorine coating on the front element repels water and fingerprints The front lens is treated with a water- and grease-repellent coating, making it easy to clean. The coating also increases the durability of the lens surface and extends its life.
Advanced coatings reduce reflections The lenses are treated with two different advanced coatings that improve light transmission. eBAND (Extended Bandwidth & Angular-Dependency) coating is an effective anti-reflection coating that prevents reflections over almost the entire visible light range, while BBAR (Broad-Band Anti-Reflection) coating uses more traditional multi-layer coating technology. Together, these eliminate almost all excess reflections, as well as ghosting, for a flawless, crystal-clear image.
Great soft bokeh The lens' nine-blade circular dimmer produces very smoothly drawn, unhealthy areas, as well as preventing light fragmentation in point sources. The circular dimmer achieves its shape even at two apertures dimmed.
Focus options for macro photography The new 90mm macro lens has a limiter to adjust the focus range when the working distance is known. The lens also has an internal focusing system, so the length of the lens does not change when focusing. Thus, you will always have a minimum working distance of 139mm from the front lens. The Full-time Manual Focus function allows the focus to be fine-tuned manually without having to switch to manual focus separately.
TAMRON TAP-in Console compatible Always fresh: you can update the lens software, fine-tune the focus, and change the image stabilizer's right stops, for example, by using the TAMRON TAP-in Console together with your computer.
