The AtomX CAST is a modular add-on for the Atomos NINJA V or NINJA V monitor recorder that converts the device into a versatile multi-input monitor. The combination of NINJA V and ATOMX CAST forms NINJA CASTIN, which is a stand-alone dialer, a multiscreen monitor and a broadcast-quality recorder that does not require a computer to operate. A high-quality 5" HDR touchscreen, four HDMI inputs and physical buttons make Ninja CAST an excellent solution for portable live switching and streaming.

Broadcasting features for all
AtomX CAST is designed for videographers and anyone who wants to produce broadcast-quality multi-camera programmes simply and quickly. It is also ideal for web conferencing, presentations, distance learning/training, virtual conferencing and corporate video. CAST's ease of use allows you to achieve great results without the skills of a video professional.

Simple selector switch
Flexible control options allow you to use either the touch screen or physical buttons to select sources. Illuminated buttons and coloured LED lighting for program and preview mode allow you to use CAST even in dimly lit environments.

Connect any Full HD video source
You can connect mirrorless or DSLR cameras, camcorders, computers, consoles or even pre-recorded content via HDMI. The built-in sync function allows you to automatically connect different picture frequencies and HD sources.

Integrates seamlessly
With NINJA V/V docked, the AtomX CAST connects via USB-C to your computer and displays as a high-quality webcam. Thanks to the plug and play function, it works instantly with all video applications such as Zoom, Teams and Skype without the need for separate drivers. Add up to four camera inputs to take your presentation or meeting to the next level.

Integrated monitor
Thanks to the integrated monitor, you can see the incoming signals and the output of your programme without having to connect an additional monitor. With the NINJA V/V docked to the AtomX CAST, you can use its high-quality 5-inch touchscreen to set up your settings and the monitor's auxiliary tools to optimise exposure, focus and image analysis. Then switch to multiview to see all four inputs at once, plus you can monitor audio levels.

Improve your brand, your video and your reach
Sophisticated features such as logos, graphics in the top third of the screen and text in the lower third make your production look incredible, and the dedicated controls for these functions make them easy to use. You can add custom graphics for content branding, support for transparency, sponsor logos and other on-screen information to your production, and set the look and feel with Ninja's touchscreen.

Picture in picture
One of the advantages of using CAST with a multi-camera set-up is that you can use the picture-in-picture function to display two inputs simultaneously. Any of the four HDMI inputs can be used for the Picture in Picture effect, and the size and position of the overlapping image can be adjusted. You can show a close-up of a product on your desk and display your face as an image in the picture at the same time as you talk about the product.

Configurable and adaptable
The compact size and versatility of AtomX CAST make it easy to transport and use for both individual operators and teams. Individual operators can carry the Ninja CAST in a small backpack and then use it discreetly with compact mirrorless cameras on productions of all sizes. For larger configurations, the NINJA V/V HDMI output can be used as a secondary output that can be configured as a duplicate program output, a preview monitor for a film crew or performers, or connected to a larger multiview monitor.

Ready for advanced workflow
The AtomX CAST, connected to the NINJA V/V, is a fully functional standalone switcher, but you can also use it with a computer for more advanced video work. In this mode, AtomX CAST and NINJA V/V handle the heavy lifting, reducing the load on your computer and the likelihood of software crashes when using dedicated external video processing. Just add AtomX CAST as a media source in OBS, X-Split and VMix to take advantage of the extra graphics and scene configuration in the software application while using CAST to switch video inputs.

Broadcast quality selection and recording
Professional 10bit/4:2:2 inputs give you broadcast-quality switching, plus the ability to record with broadcast-quality codecs such as Apple ProRes or Avid DNx.

AtomX CAST can deliver video to a global audience by sending the streaming to the streaming host of your choice, sending a broadcast-quality video signal to a local display, digital signage or video wall, and recording with high-quality, editable video codecs.

Using Ninja CAST with a decent camera and almost any suitable lens, you get a professional broadcasting solution with incredible image quality. You can set a low depth of field and create a cinematic look that's very different from a standard webcam image. Pay attention to lighting, camera angles and sound, and you'll soon be making professional video productions. Even an older HD camcorder can produce great video via the HDMI port, so you probably already have cameras for multi-camera production.
