The Blackmagic Design Atem Mini Extreme Streamer from Blackmagic Design is a TWO-input live production video mixer with an integrated control panel for multi-camera streaming of HD video at the level of the internet with Ethernet output. Its USB output allows you to connect a (separately purchased) hard drive to which you can store separate software sources and output. In addition to video, Atem Mini Extreme also records audio from both the program source and the analog inputs.

The buttons and the back panel are the same as the Mini Pro model, just more of everything and a bit more commands etc. Other features are the same as its predecessor. The back panel has a ventilation hole.

The Blackmagic Design Atem Mini is designed for multi-camera live streaming to the internet or broadcast functions. The compact Atem Mini is the ideal live switcher for gaming consoles, corporate computer streams, or HD cameras. The device features four inputs, and an integrated control panel. Four HDMI inputs on the rear panel are capable of capturing a 1080p60 signal. The HDMI output allows you to connect a projector or external monitor. A USB C-type interface allows you to stream 1080p60 video to your computer, and an RJ45 10/100 Ethernet port is provided for system management, remote control and upgrades.

The control surface is clear, with backlit keys that let you select camera inputs, affect transitions, keys, settings and DVE.Atem Mini has both upstream and downstream keys, and advanced chroma keys, two linear/low keys, DVE transition key, pattern generator, and two color generators. In addition, the device has support for media playback of fill and key images, with a capacity of up to 20 stills in PNG, TGA, BMP, JPEG, and TIFF formats. HDMI output supports a minimum resolution of 12366x768 for monitoring. Support is also provided for the ATEM Software Control Panel via Ethernet, allowing you to control and configure the Atem Mini.

Transitions

• Cut: when you press the Cut button, Atem automatically moves the image from the program source to the preview source. Cuts can also be made directly by selecting the source or by pressing the Cut button and the program moves to the next source.
• Mix: Mix, dissolve or whatever you call it, blurs the image from one source to another smoothly. You can adjust the fade time yourself.
• Dip: Like Mix, Dip also fades out images but in such a way that the image curves in colour, image or clip between sources. Usually the dip is done in black or white, or, for example, on a sponsor's logo.
• Wipe: built-in wipe patterns include circles, diamonds, squares and more. The shapes and patterns can be rotated and softened, and you can add colored borders of your choice.
• DVE: Built-in Digital Video Effects processor, or DVE allows push, spin, squeeze or swoosh effects for live signal transitions. DVE transitions can be flip-flopped or cancelled to give you more options

Upstream keyer

You can overlay video sources with the Upstream Key. You can use a snowkey. Linear brush, pattern brush or film against a green screen and use chroma directly to make video composites.

• Luma Key: Luma key works best with contrasting images, for example white elements on a black background. This allows you to cut out the black background and leave a live video or images in its place.
• Linear Key: For clean, high quality results with linear key, use two sources for the fill and the key that become one video feed. The fill signal is the video stacked on top of the background, while the key signal is the grey mask that decides which area to fill
• Chroma key: Used daily for things like TV weather reports, Chroma key is a powerful way to combine live images in real time. A performer usually stands in front of a green or blue background and Chroma key simply removes that colour and merges the image with another image.
• Pattern Key: Combine the live image with any of the built-in wipe patterns to get geometric patterns in your live image. You can adjust the

Downstream keyers

Blackmagic Design Atem Mini switcher is also equipped with a downstream key to add high-quality graphics such as logos, bugs, and titles directly from the built-in media player to the live stream. The downstream key is the last layer of the keyer, so it comes directly on top of the output.

Audio mixer

A built-in audio mixer lets you control both the camera and external audio levels with precision, and adjust the levels between all six audio inputs and two channels. The mixer has selectable channel-by-channel On/Off/Audio-Follow-Video, and each channel has its own gain, level, and peak metering. On top of all that, there are new Fairlight audio features like compressor, gate, limiter, six-channel parametric EQ and master gain.

Monitor output

HDMI monitor output allows you to preview sources, graphics and output on a single screen.

media player

Eliminate external generators and store up to 20 broadcast-level RGBA graphics internally. Media player is one source among others. You can connect the media player to the input using a key, or run it directly from the output. The most common image formats PNG, TGA, BMP, GIF, JPEG, and TIFF are supported.
