The Caruba Reverse Adapter Macro Coupler is a metal adapter ring that can be used to mount a second lens in reverse in front of the lens normally mounted on the camera. This solution is intended for macro photography, when you want to use a combination of two lenses to produce a magnification.

Reversed lens for macro photography

The adapter ring is threaded into the filter threads of both lenses. The magnification ratio is determined by the ratio of the focal length of the normally mounted lens to the focal length of the inverted lens. The working distance is shorter than usual with this technique and the use of autofocus is not recommended if the first lens is not internally focusing.
