More powerful operation, original vertical shooting and an expanded accessory system make the DJI RS 4 a powerful tool for the mirrorless camera shooter. The gimbal weighs only about 1.1 kg and has a carrying capacity of 3 kg, so it easily supports your compact camera. Teflon-coated shafts reduce friction for smoother balancing and operation. Other intuitive features include a fine adjustment knob, an auto-locking OLED display and an RSA communication port for expandable accessories.

Design of the second generation of the quick-fix plate

Thanks to the familiar double-layer quick-mounting plates, the RS 4 makes it easy to set up and balance your camera. The horizontal plate has been redesigned for faster transition to the original vertical shooting. A fine adjustment knob lets you adjust the tilt axis to move the camera forward or backward. Positioning guides have been added to the top plate to ensure secure camera attachment.

Second generation automatic axle locks

When the gimbal is switched off, you can press and hold the power button and the three axes will open while the gimbal automatically expands, allowing you to start working in just two seconds. Press the power button once and the shafts automatically lock and go into sleep mode, making moving or storing much more efficient. The second version of this design has created smaller openings when locked to further reduce gimbal vibration.

RSA Communication Gateway

The RSA communication port allows you to integrate Ronin series accessories into your gimbal configuration. Add Ronin-specific or third-party accessories using the control capabilities to switch between different imaging configurations. The DJI RS SDK protocol allows third-party manufacturers and other developers to create future custom features for the RS 4.

Wireless shutter control

Using Dual-Mode Bluetooth, the RS 4 supports wireless shutter control, saving time and effort with every use. After the first Bluetooth pairing, you can control video and photo shooting simply by pressing the record button on the stabilizer. Previously paired cameras can be automatically reconnected after the first use, eliminating the need for a camera control cable.

New DJI Focus Pro motor

Connect RS 4 to your new Focus Pro using the USB-C port provided. The motor offers 30 % more speed and lets you focus your lens with the knob and zoom with the joystick.

Integrated controls

Switch between Pan follow, Pan and Tilt follow and FPV modes simply by sliding the new gimbal mode switch. The FPV mode selection is also customisable to 3D Roll 360, Portrait or Custom mode, so you can adjust your equipment and get started as quickly as possible. Other smart features include motion timing, tracking and panorama.
The trigger button can be adapted to FPV mode, with three axes following the direction of the handle movement when held down.

Fourth generation RS stabilisation algorithm

Thanks to a next-generation stabilisation algorithm, RS 4 offers improved stability compared to RS 3, effortlessly handling vertical shooting, fast-paced movements and low-angle shots.

Automatically locking OLED display

The RS 4 is equipped with a fixed OLED touch screen with a new automatic locking feature. When locked, the display shows current gimbal and joystick movements in low brightness to prevent accidental switching and save battery power.

Integrated monitoring and control

You can remotely adjust the camera exposure directly in the Ronin app or control the gimbal with a virtual joystick for an integrated monitoring and control experience. With the Ronin Image Transmitter, your smartphone can be used as a motion controller to remotely control the RS 4 gimbal for more flexible and dynamic camera movements.

Improved battery life and fast charging
The RS 4's battery handle has a cartridge design, making it easier to change batteries and smaller for storage. It can even be charged separately from the gimbal. The new battery grip offers extended battery life of up to 12 hours, enough for continuous shooting all day. It supports 18W PD fast charging with a charging time of just 2.5 hours. It can even be used while charging to keep the RS 4 powered on almost indefinitely.
