The Manfrotto Autopole 2 is a studio pole that clamps between the floor and the ceiling for rigging backdrops, lights and grip equipment. A manually operated spring-loaded lock keeps the pole in place, allowing you to use backdrops or backdrops made of cardboard without having to climb a ladder.

Part of a flexible studio rig

Autopole 2 serves as a support for backdrops and backdrop boards, as well as a mounting point for lights and grip arms, when used with compatible Super Clamp fasteners. For taller venues, the system can be supplemented with an Autopole base or extension piece, available separately.
