NiSi Square Explorer 100X150MM Reverse GND8 3Stops

The NiSi Explorer Collection 100×150 mm graduated neutral density (GND) filter is made for adventurous photographers. Thanks to B270 tempered glass, it is twice as durable as other typical glass filters, yet is completely neutral in colour and also features an infrared coating and the same dirt, water and oil resistant nanocoating as NiSi's standard filters.

The transition between the hemispheres is softened which makes the filter suitable for shooting situations where the horizon is broken by trees, buildings, mountains and other details.

NiSi Explorer Reverse Graduated Filter GND8 (0.9) / 3 Stops smooths out the differences in brightness between the sky and the earth. Reverse GND differs from a standard GND filter in that the darkest part is above the central depth of field but only for part of the image area. Their intended use is in image composition, where the light is brightest at the horizon but fades towards the sky.

This is most commonly seen in landscape photography where there are no elements rising above the horizon, as at sea towards the horizon.

The NiSi 100mm Explore filters are compatible with the NiSi 100mm filter system so it can be mounted on lenses with filter threads between 49-100mm.

Note: These filters are hardened and reinforced so they are much less susceptible to damage. This does not mean that the filters are indestructible. In addition, over time, the effect of hardening may naturally diminish.
