The sensor and processor both support DCI (4096 x 2160) and UHD (3840 x 2160) 4K video. When working with DCI, true 24 fps is at your fingertips, as well as IPB compression at 237 Mb/s data rate. UHD 4K frame rate is 29.97fps and 102 Mb/s. Full HD 1080p and HD720p support is also available where required. Audio can be recorded with an internal mic, and an external mic connection allows for higher quality external recorders. You can also use an external video recorder via HDMI: a connection that supports 4:2:2 8-bit colour gamut.

Free yourself from the cumbersome external stabilizers usually needed to shoot cinematic videos. The E-M5 Mark III includes the world's most powerful five-axis stabilizer - everything you need for handheld video. It lets you shoot steadily even when you're moving.

You can also record time-lapse video at 4K UHD resolution at 5 frames per second. FullHD and HD time-lapse settings are also available. Or the high-speed FullHD setting which gives you 120 frames per second.

Inside the body are inlaid all kinds of glass to correct all kinds of errors in image quality. Colour distortion, barrel blurring and so on. The images are accurate, and colour faithful. ZERO coating finishes off flare and ghosting marks. Contrast is thus good even in backlit situations.

The optics are mated to a video and still compatible autofocus system that is fast and fluid, not to mention quiet. Maximum magnification of 0.25x throughout the zoom range makes it easy to work with close objects. In addition, the glass is weatherproofed for harsh conditions.
