The Sigma 24-70mm f/2.8 DG DN Art is intended as a real workhorse for L-moynt cinema mirrorless cameras. The lens is versatile from wide angle to potrait length and has the distinctive feature of an f/2.8 aperture. The light-sensitive design is ideal for working in prevailing light, and of course for better depth of field control. The optical formula incorporates a number of low dispersion elements and aspherical elements that greatly reduce a wide range of aberrations to achieve high sharpness and better clarity. Both Multi-Layer and Nano Porous coatings are used to achieve peak contrast and colour fidelity while reducing flare and haze.

The optical elements are mated to a stepper AF motor that makes the Sigma 24-70mm f/2.8 DG DN Art lens fast and accurate, yet without making autofocus too noisy. At the wide end of the zoom range, the magnification ratio is 1:2.9 which allows the lens to be used with close-up subjects. An 11-blade dimmer makes for a pleasing bokeh. And hey, the lens is also weather sealed, a neat feature when working in harsher conditions.

The standard zoom is designed for mirrorless cameras, but of course it can also be used on APS-C format models where it converts the focal length to 36-105mm cinema conversion.
