The Sigma ART 85mm F1.2 DG is a large-aperture medium-telephoto lens designed for full-frame mirrorless cameras. It is particularly well suited to portrait photography, weddings, fashion and cinematic video production, where the aim is to achieve sharp rendering and a very shallow depth of field.

An f/1.2 aperture and controlled bokeh

The combination of an f/1.2 aperture and an 85 mm focal length produces an extremely narrow depth of field. The 13-blade rounded aperture helps to keep the bokeh almost circular even when the aperture is stopped down, and the optical design is engineered to minimise colour fringing and double contours in out-of-focus areas.

High resolution at full aperture

Two SLD glass elements, an extra-low dispersion glass element and aspherical elements correct the aberrations typical of large-aperture lenses. The lens is designed to deliver detailed rendering right from the maximum aperture of F1.2 in both stills and video.

Fast autofocus and a design optimised for video recording

Dual HLA autofocus operates quickly and quietly, supporting both still photography and tracking of moving subjects in video. Focus breathing has been reduced thanks to an optimised focus group structure, so focus shifts appear more natural when shooting video.
