If you're interested in macro or close-up photography, this Fujino 120mm f/4 Macro R LM OIS WR is the right tool for the medium format Fuji user. The maximum magnification is 1:2 which is not a true macro in practice, but because of the cropping capability you can easily achieve a result equivalent to 1:1 magnification. The shortest focusing distance is 45cm which is quite good at this focal length. Its focal length equivalence in small format (i.e. so-called full-frame) is around 95mm. Its aperture is again f/3.16. Its 14 elements in nine groups include three ELD (extra-low dispersion) elements, which reduce chromatic aberrations and colour leakage. Colour accuracy and brightness are on tap. The lens is protected from the elements.

Unlike other GF lenses, this model has an optical stabilizer that stabilizes up to 5 apertures.

The lens has a manual aperture corrector which gives a very tangible sense of aperture adjustment.

The front element is coated with fluorine which repels dirt and water. A nine-leaf dimmer helps to produce a soft bokeh.

The fast linear focus mechanism makes focusing surprisingly fast even though it is a macro lens, at its longest position the lens is 152mm long. Optical performance is good throughout the focus range. The body has a three-position focus range limiting switch.

The brass bayonet is durable and rigid and will hold its fixing tolerances for a long time.
