Celestron CPC GPS XLT 925 Telescope
The Celestron CPC GPS XLT 925 is a 235 mm Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope on a computer-controlled dual-arm alt-azimuth mount. The built-in GPS and SkyAlign alignment system speed up the start of your observing session, whilst the extensive object database guides you to planets, nebulae and galaxies. Alignment using three bright reference points
The GPS receiver retrieves the date, time and location from the satellites, so there is no need to enter this information manually. You then use the hand controller to point the telescope at any three bright objects in the sky – you don’t need to know the names of the stars: the Moon or bright planets will do just as well. The NexStar software models the sky and calculates the position of every object above the horizon.
A database of over 40,000 entries
The database includes, amongst other things, the Messier and Caldwell catalogues, as well as NGC galaxies, nebulae and planets. You can use the filter limits to hide objects that are obscured by, for example, trees or buildings. The ‘Identify’ function tells you what the telescope is currently pointing at and displays the five nearest objects of the selected type for GOTO movement. With the Solar Sys Align function, you can align the telescope with the Sun or the Moon for daytime observations.
Hand-finished optics
The optics are hand-finished and collimated at Celestron’s factory in Torrance, California. StarBright XLT coatings enhance the performance of the optics.
Main features
- The built-in GPS automatically sets the time, date and location.
- SkyAlign alignment can be carried out using any three bright celestial objects.
- The database contains over 40,000 entries, more than 100 user-submitted entries and detailed information on over 200 entries.
- The redesigned operating mechanism runs quietly and features large gears and a quick-release clutch.
- A sturdy tripod with 2-inch steel legs and an accessory plate; the tube can be attached even in the dark.
- 8×50-etsinkiikari helpottaa kohteiden tarkkaa paikantamista.
