You don’t need to. Just come straight to our shop in Kouvola town centre at Asemakatu 2 B during opening hours: weekdays 10.00–17.00 and Saturdays 10.00–15.00.
About 5 minutes. We’ll take a photo, check together that it meets the requirements, and you’ll be given your photo ID straight away.
A digital passport photo costs €20 with us. You can get printed photos for an additional €5, and the photo can also be sent by email for an additional €5.
Digital passport photos are suitable for passports, identity cards, driving licences and firearms licences. We also take photographs for residence permits and as paper copies, for example, for foreign visas, such as a US visa, where the photo dimensions differ from those of a Finnish passport photo.
The photo ID is a code that enables the authorities to locate your photo when it is submitted electronically. When you apply for a passport or identity card online, you enter the reference number in the application form. At a police service point, you give it to the officer. In this case, a paper photograph is not required.
According to the police guidelines, the photograph must not be more than 6 months old. It is therefore advisable to have your photograph taken only when you are applying for the document.
We check each photograph against the requirements at the time it is taken. However, if the police or Migri reject a photograph taken by us, we will retake it free of charge.
We’ll take it. In photos of babies and young children, their eyes must be open and their mouths closed, or at most slightly ajar. The child may be supported, but the supporter’s hands or other body parts must not be visible in the photo. Please allow a little extra time when bringing a young child – we’ll take our time and keep trying until we get a good photo.
You can, provided your eyes are clearly visible and there are no reflections on the lenses. Furthermore, the frames must not cover your eyes or be so thick that they obscure your facial features. We’ll check this at the time of the photo shoot, and if necessary, the photo will be taken without glasses.
A scarf or other head covering may only be worn for religious or medical reasons. Even then, the face must be fully visible from the forehead to the chin.
Choose an item of clothing that stands out against a light background – for example, a dark or coloured shirt. Your hair must not cover your eyes. Your expression should be neutral, so please don’t smile this time.
You can find the detailed requirements from the police’s guidelines on passport photographs. If you have any queries, please call us on 05-375 3220.
