Celestron’s zenith mirror deflects the light at a 90-degree angle, making viewing through the telescope more natural, even when observing objects high in the sky. It screws onto the rear focus of a Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope and allows the use of 50.8 mm (2-inch) eyepieces. See also our other accessories for astronomical telescopes.

More light for faint objects in the deep sky

The 50.8 mm diameter eyepiece tube transmits a larger portion of the telescope’s light cone than the 31.75 mm version. This is particularly helpful when observing faint galaxies and nebulae with low surface brightness. The mirror’s XLT coating is the same as that used by Celestron in its top-of-the-range telescopes, and it produces a sharp and bright image.

• The screw mount holds the mirror securely in place in the rear housing of standard Schmidt-Cassegrain telescopes.
• The accuracy of a mirror tested using an interferometer is guaranteed to be at least 1/10 of a wavelength.
• The precision-machined frame keeps the optics aligned during use.
• With the adapter supplied, you can also use 31.75 mm (1.25-inch) eyepieces, which are secured with a thumb screw.
• The aluminium storage case protects the zenith mirror when it is not in use.
