The KOWA TSN-88A PROMINAR is an angled nature spotting scope whose 88 mm fluorite crystal front lens produces vivid colours without any chromatic aberration. More accurate colour reproduction and greater detail

A pure fluorite crystal, combined with a concave lens, eliminates chromatic aberrations and brings out details that were previously invisible. The optical coating has been applied not only to the lenses but also to the prism, allowing more light to reach the eye and ensuring colours are reproduced faithfully. A bird’s dark plumage may reveal itself as a whole spectrum of colours.

Protected front lens and durable frame

The 95 mm filter thread, which has been moved to the body, eliminates the gap between the front lens and the filter, thereby reducing the amount of dirt reaching the lens and preventing reflections. Kowa’s KR coating repels dirt, moisture and dust. The body, made entirely from a magnesium alloy, is waterproof and nitrogen-filled, and is lighter and more durable than the previous aluminium-bodied TSN-880.

The expandable Kowa system

The accessory collar and bayonet mount are compatible with Kowa System accessories, so you can choose the eyepiece to suit your needs. The earlier TSN-880 and TSN-770 eyepieces are also directly compatible. The EX-16 1.6x extension tube provides additional magnification, whilst digiscoping adaptors allow a smartphone or digital camera to be attached to the tube.
