A revamped classic - the NIKKOR Z 24-70mm f/2.8 S II is Nikon's latest version of the versatile standard zoom, widely used by professionals in a variety of shooting situations. This second-generation Z-mount lens is the world's first 24-70mm f/2.8 with an internal zoom construction. It makes the lens lighter, faster and more weatherproof. The weight has been reduced by 16 % compared to the previous version.

World's first 24-70mm f/2.8 with internal zoom

Unlike other lenses in the same class, this model maintains its length during use, both when zooming and focusing. This solution has several advantages:

• 16 The % is lighter and about 1.3 cm shorter than its predecessor.
• Better dust and moisture protection, as there are fewer moving parts outside the frame.
• In video, the shift in focus has been reduced by 30 %, making it easier to use, especially with gimbals.
• The same internal zoom is now also available on other Nikon ”trinity” series f/2.8 S lenses (14-24mm and 70-200mm).

S-Line optics in top quality

The optical design has been redesigned - fewer elements, but improved image quality and resolution:

• 2 ED glass elements and 3 aspherical elements ensure high sharpness and colour rendition.
• The new design reduces reflections and improves contrast in bright light.
• The bokeh is even smoother thanks to the 11-round dimmer blade.
• Shortened closest focusing distance: only 24 cm (24mm) and 33 cm (70mm), magnification ratio 0.32x.

New coatings - a clear picture in all conditions

• Nikon's Meso Amorphous Coat offers the best anti-reflection.
• ARNEO Coat complements the protection by reducing ghosting, reflections and contrast loss even in backlighting.

Silky Swift VCM automatic focus

This is the first zoom lens to use the Silky Swift Voice Coil Motor. It offers up to 5 times faster focusing than the previous version, 40 % shorter scan times and 60 % better focus tracking during zooming.

• Sound levels have been halved - almost silent operation even in video.
• The focus breathes less, ensuring accurate composition in the video.
