Nikon's extra-large Z bayonet helps the NIKKOR Z lens capture more light across the entire image area. The short distance between the bayonet and the sensor significantly reduces brightness fading at the edges of the image. The result is stunning detail - right up to the edges of the frame.

The superb resolution of this lens ensures that all parts of the subject are reproduced flawlessly. Capture more detail and truer colours right up to the edges - even when shooting at full aperture.

The reproduction of point light sources, such as night street lights, is excellent, as arrow-like coma reflection is minimised. Point light sources also appear as beautifully rounded dots around the edges of the image.

Two ED glass elements and three aspherical lens elements ensure stunning, sharp images with vivid tones and deep contrast. Light attenuation at the edges of the image has been taken into account so that brightness is maintained across the entire image area.

Nikon's anti-reflective nanocrystal coating improves image quality by reducing ghosting and reflections, even when shooting in backlight. It also clears situations where there are multiple sources of direct light in the image area.
