NiSi Square Explorer 100X150MM Soft IR GND8 3Stops

The NiSi Explorer Collection 100×100 mm graduated neutral density (GND) filter is made for adventurous photographers. Thanks to B270 tempered glass, it is twice as durable as other typical glass filters, yet is completely neutral in colour and also features an infrared coating and the same dirt, water and oil resistant nanocoating as NiSi's standard filters.

NiSi Explorer Soft Graduated Filter GND8 (0.9) / 3 Stops smooths out the differences in brightness between the sky and the earth. The upper half of the filter is darker and reduces light by a full 3 stops, improving colour saturation and making clouds more visible. The lower half of the filter is completely clear and does not affect the amount of light reaching the lens.

The transition between the hemispheres is softened which makes the filter suitable for shooting situations where the horizon is broken by trees, buildings, mountains and other details.

The NiSi 100×100 mm Explore filters are compatible with the NiSi 100 mm filter system so it can be mounted on lenses with filter threads between 49-100mm.

Note: These filters are hardened and reinforced so they are much less susceptible to damage. This does not mean that the filters are indestructible. In addition, over time, the effect of hardening may naturally diminish.
