With this kit, I was able to control the lighting really well when filming on a sunny day. It’s a simple piece of kit, but as a first-time user, I would have appreciated at least a brief set-up guide.
A high-quality looking grey filter package. It comes with an adjustable filter that screws into the lens, a quick release ND16 filter and plug, and a storage kit for the filters. The kit also includes a pin and a spare pin for the adjustable filter.
The quick-fix works by friction, i.e. the additional filter and plug are simply pressed onto the bottom filter. At least when new, it works well. Also the colours seem to remain unchanged as promised in the advertisements. The adjustable ND1-5 filter is a bit stiff to rotate on its own without the pin, but with the ND16 filter it is easier to rotate. A plus for the included spare pin. The ND16 filter and the dowel have pre-drilled holes for the pin, so there's no need to unscrew the pin for either.
The storage package is a practical solution for storing and transporting filters. It has a total of eight pockets, but I suspect it will only hold 6-7 filters.
To sum up, I would say that for the price it is a good package. The only thing that is missing is some kind of quick-fix for the adjustable strainer.
