Samyang 12mm f/2.8 ED AS NCS Fisheye - manual focus ultra wide angle lens

The Samyang 12mm f/2.8 ED AS NCS Fisheye is a manual focus ultra-wide-angle lens that produces a so-called fisheye effect, which recognisably curves the edges of the image to create a 180-degree panorama. The lens is designed for full-frame but is also compatible with smaller camera formats such as APS-C and Micro Four Thirds.

Optical structure
The lens body is made of durable metal, and the focusing ring is wide and soft to use. The lens internals feature 12 lens elements in 8 groups, including 2 aspherical elements (APS) and 3 Extra Low Dispersion (ED) elements to ensure high resolution and prevent chromatic aberration.

The Nano Coating System (NCS) coating with nanocrystals optimises light transmission and reduces reflections and ghosting better than a conventional coating. The fisheye angle is an effect often used in music videos and a staple of skateboarding videos. Used in good taste from time to time, it's a very clever effect. It should be in every photographer's backpack for general education reasons.
