The Sigma 15mm f/1.4 DC Contemporary is a fast wide-angle lens for Sony E-mount APS-C cameras. It is particularly well-suited to videography, landscape photography, architectural photography and situations where you want to shoot in low light or make use of a shallow depth of field.

A redesigned body for APS-C photographers

The lens has been redesigned based on the previous 16mm f/1.4 model: it is up to 50 % lighter and 30 % shorter than its predecessor. The optical design, which utilises FLD and SLD glass elements, helps to minimise image aberrations and keep the size compact.

Brightness and controlled rendering

The large f/1.4 aperture makes it easier to shoot in low light and enables a strong background blur even at wide-angle focal lengths. The nine rounded aperture blades help to create a soft bokeh effect, and at smaller apertures the lens can produce a striking sunstar effect from point light sources.

Settings suitable for video recording

The stepper motor-based autofocus operates quickly and almost silently. The Sony E-mount version features a physical aperture ring, the clicks of which can be disabled for smoother and quieter aperture adjustment.
