The latest compact lens adds to Sigma's range of f/2 lenses. The compact size and very beautifully rendered glass is a welcome addition, especially for videographers. The lens is just 7cm long and weighs 345 grams. It is comfortable to handle and carry around, as well as balance with a variety of gimbals. The lens body is made of durable metal and is dust and splash proof.

You could even say that this is the nifty-fifty that Sony never did. Sure, the Zeiss 55mm is a great lens but if you're a slightly more pedantic guy, you're bound to want a fifty mm lens.

The background softening is quite sufficient, since it is glass made for a cinema size sensor.
