I got this so that I can attach an external microphone to the gimbal. Works great.
I ordered this so that I could attach a depository to the camera frame. It can be tightened properly, the cold shoe doesn't have to be a locking model and the device to be attached can be rotated to the desired position.
This is a small and nifty rig that seems to do what it's promised. I put a boom on the extension and it does a good job of fine tuning.
