Sony continues to push the boundaries of the G Master series with the 85mm f/1.4 GM II lens, improving its edge-to-edge sharpness and contrast by correcting a wide range of spherical and chromatic aberrations.

Fast f/1.4 maximum aperture is useful for working in difficult lighting conditions and offers a lot of control over the focus position when using low depth of field techniques. Nano AR II coating helps reduce surface reflections, glow and ghosting in strong lighting conditions, increasing contrast and colour rendition. Rounded 11-leaf dimmer contributes to a pleasing bokeh quality

Autofocus is now faster and more accurate
The autofocus is driven by an XD (extreme dynamic) linear motor, which significantly improves focusing performance compared to its predecessor DDSSM, including faster, quieter and more accurate AF, ideal for both video and still images.

Faster AF means improved focus when working with fast-moving subjects; support is available for shooting at up to 120 fps when used with the Sony a9 III.

Approximately 20% lighter and 13% smaller than its predecessor, the 85mm f/1.4 GM II remains a durable, portable and versatile option with a wide range of applications. Two programmable focus hold buttons and a focus mode switch for intuitive focus control.

The hybrid structure uses both metal and plastic components for maximum durability and lightweight design.

The dust- and moisture-resistant design includes rubber seals at every seam and a rubber ring to seal the lens mount, ensuring use in adverse weather conditions.

The front lens element has a fluorine coating that repels water, oil and other contaminants, making it easier to clean.
