Action camera

The action camera is a small and handy camera that can be used in more difficult conditions. With a normal camera, a sports performance or underwater shooting is challenging or even impossible, but not with an action camera. For skiing, diving, motocross or bungee jumping, for example, an action camera is ideal. You can mount the camera almost anywhere with accessories. In general, all action cameras are sustainable. However, there is considerable variation in durability between different models. You should also check the water resistance if you want to use the camera in water. Good for IP rating is important to have, especially if you are diving deep. Action cameras generally produce good quality video and still images, especially for their small size. Also image features vary between cameras. Resolution is one factor that affects image quality. In general, action cameras shoot at least FullHD video, which is good enough for the basic user. The frame rate, i.e. FPS is also a key element in the quality of a video image. A higher FPS makes the picture look smoother, which is great for fast-paced action shots. A camera that shoots 60fps video is great for fast-moving video.

Most action cameras also have image stabilizer, which reduces the amount of vibration in the image. Some action cameras also have different types of filming facilities, such as timelapse, continuous shooting, widescreen or 360.

In general, action cameras are not very stunning microphone. So don't expect to get a great soundtrack for your video, especially if the wind hits the camera hard. However, you often overlay your footage with music, for example, so that's not a big problem.

When shooting for a long time with an action camera, it may battery run out of time. That's why you should choose an action camera with a long-lasting battery. But if the battery is about to run out, you should buy a spare batteries.

It is also important that the footage is easy to transfer and share. Transfer methods depending on the model, for example, by wire, memory card or wireless transfer. The safe and traditional way is to use a USB cable or memory card to transfer to your computer or mobile phone. This is often reliable, but may not be the most convenient way.
