A backdrop provides a neat and uniform background for portraits, product photography, interviews and video shoots. Choose your backdrop based on these criteria:
Material: Crease-resistant polyester fabrics are the quickest to put up, as they do not need ironing. A painted canvas background gives portraits an artistic look.
Colour: white for high-key shots and product photography, black and grey for portraits, green or blue as a chroma key background for video.
Size: A 1.5 × 2 m background is sufficient for half-length shots; for full-length shots and group shots, you will need a background at least 2.7 m wide.
You’ll need a backing frame to hang the fabric. You’ll find the frames and backing boards in the department studio backdrops and stands.
Backing fabrics are more resistant to wear and tear than traditional backing boards. They can also often be washed and ironed, giving the product many years of service life.
The painted background fabric works great as a backdrop for potrettes and can be tinted with lights.
