Blackmagic Design Pocket Cinema Camera 6K Pro - an improved version of the neo-classic

The Blackmagic Design Pocket Cinema Camera 6K Pro is equipped with a Super35 (aps-C) sensor capable of capturing 6144 x 3456 16:9 6K images at up to 50 fps. Its Canon EF bayonet is compatible with Canon EF lenses, including the superb 24mm f1.4 lens. Separate adapters let you attach almost any lens to the camera.

The Blackmagic Design Pocket Cinema Camera 4K camera is intended for high-speed productions, among other things, where the novelty of the camera's features is most apparent. Blackmagic Design has added ready-made shortcut buttons for the most common functions, including shutter angle, ISO, white balance and HFR.

Previous BMDPCC 6K camera was a great device for the price, so what could be better in a new one? Well, everything you could wish for in principle. The camera has added internal ND filters, two mini-XLR inputs, a really accurate time code clock, a much better battery type (NP-F570) and updated Gen 5 colour science.

Only slightly larger than the standard 6K, the internals are essentially the same in terms of image quality, and of course the bayonet is still the same Canon EF.

6K Pro can turn one frame into two by cropping one of them, upscale to 8K, or just shoot a sharp image. The updated Gen 5 colour science blends well with footage from 6K and 4K cameras. You can record to CFast 2.0 and SD/UHS-II cards, or via the full-size HDMI port, OR directly from the USB-C port to a hard drive.

The camera has Dual Native ISO capability, and the maximum ISO value is 25600. The Blackmagic Design Pocket Cinema Camera 4K features a high quality 5″ touchscreen and direct storage on a USB-C drive. The recording media is CFast/SD cards and the recording format is 12-bit CinemaDNG RAW, RAW 3:1, RAW 4:1, and ProRes 422HQ, 422, 422LT and 422 Proxy. The dynamic range is 13 apertures. The camera captures high-speed footage up to 120fps (HD windowed mode), and 60fps (4K DCI). Although you wouldn't think it at first glance, the camera can also capture still images.

On the sound side Blackmagic Design Pocket Cinema Camera 4K gets you connected to mini-XLR plugs with phantom power, for professional microphones. In addition, of course, there's a 3.5mm socket, and an internal stereo mic.

Interface is the Blackmagic OS and bluetooth remote control familiar from the Ursa mini. For post-processing purposes, a DaVinci Resolve Studio license code is included. Resolve is probably one of the most versatile video editing software and its colour definition system is the king of the industry.

Blackmagic Design Pocket Cinema Camera 6K takes your video production to the next level. The small sensor and carbon fibre construction combine to make the system lightweight and comfortable to use.
