The new FUJIFILM GFX100RF is the lightest and smallest GFX series camera ever, and the first ever with a fixed lens. It features a 70 % larger sensor than full-frame cameras for exceptional high-resolution images, incredible tonal range and unique colour reproduction. The GFX100RF combines Fujifilm's long photographic heritage, state-of-the-art technology and sophisticated design, offering a unique experience and exceptional performance from snapshots to professional reportage. The versatile 35mm focal length (equivalent to 28mm in 35mm aperture) is ideal for a wide range of subjects, including landscape, travel, street and people photography.

Exceptional image quality and fast autofocus

The camera's large, high-resolution image sensor ”GFX 102MP CMOS II” has a resolution of a full 102 megapixels and produces highly detailed images, a wide tonal range and impressive performance in low light conditions. Plus, with features typical of medium format cameras: a more three-dimensional feel and smoother focus release.

The sensor also features an improved pixel structure to efficiently deliver more light to the sensor. This enables the ISO80's standard sensitivity for images over a wide dynamic range and with very low noise. The micro-lenses on the sensor are designed to increase the light gathering capacity at the edges of the sensor, improving image quality and autofocus accuracy.

The power of X-Processor 5 combines with an advanced AF algorithm to make it easier to capture sudden moments and moving subjects. The GFX100RF features a Subject Detection function for in-camera autofocus, developed with deep learning AI technology that finds and tracks your subject with great impact. It automatically detects and tracks not only faces and eyes, but also animals, birds, cars, bicycles, planes and trains.

Compact and lightweight camera with unique design and intuitive controls

The top plate, focus ring, steering wheel and base plate are all carefully milled from aluminium, reinforcing the sense of quality and creating a coherent and elegant look. The new GFX100RF is the lightest GFX camera ever, weighing just 735 g. This is made possible by a newly developed lens and the optimisation of the internal structure of the camera body.

The GFX100RF is the first camera in the GFX series with a steering wheel for quick access to different aspect ratios. The control wheel allows you to switch between nine different aspect ratios (4:3, 3:2, 16:9, 65:24, 17:6, 3:4, 1:1, 7:6, 5:4), reflecting Fujifilm's heritage from many analogue cameras and films. Choosing the right aspect ratio for the subject makes the photographic experience more enjoyable and expands creative possibilities. In addition, a new function has been added that displays the area outside the selected aspect ratio on the LCD screen and viewfinder. You can select semi-transparent or line format to keep an eye on what's happening outside the image.

The GFX100RF has a fixed focal length of 35mm (equivalent to a 28mm angle of view in 35mm format), but the focal length can be extended thanks to the high resolution of 102 megapixels using the camera's digital teleconverter. A new dial is placed on the front of the camera for easy access to choose between 45 mm, 63 mm or 80 mm, offering greater flexibility and multiple applications.

The GFX100RF includes 20 of Fujifilm's popular film simulation modes. Building on Fujifilm's 90-year heritage and experience in developing photographic film, film simulations have been an important part of the GFX and X series' great popularity. The camera supports the HEIF image format, which provides 10-bit image quality in files up to 30 % smaller than standard JPEG files. Combining these with one of Fujifilm's popular film simulations extends the ability to produce high quality images straight from the camera. The camera captures RAW files in both 14- and 16-bit formats.

New high-performance lens, centre shutter and ND filter

The GFX100RF features a fixed lens with a 35mm focal length (equivalent to a 28mm angle of view in 35mm format) and a maximum aperture of f/4. This versatile focal length makes the camera highly versatile and suitable for a wide range of subjects from landscapes, travel and street photography to portraits and reportage. The use of a fixed lens with a central shutter allowed the camera to reduce the back focus and optimise the placement of lenses and camera components, thus significantly reducing the overall size of the camera body.

The lens has an optical structure consisting of 10 lens elements in 8 groups, including two aspherical lens elements to reduce distortion and aberrations. A newly developed Nano GI coating, optimised for wide-angle lenses, attenuates ghosting and lens flare to maximise the resolution of the large, high-resolution cell.

The minimum focusing distance is 20 cm and the lens has a built-in ND filter (four steps). This is useful when shooting at wide apertures in bright environments or at slow shutter speeds. The central shutter of the lens allows flash photography at all shutter speeds, which increases flexibility and the ability to use flash at wide apertures outdoors, for example.

4K video recording at medium size

The GFX100RF II can record 4K/30P 4:2:2 10-bit video internally to an SD card and uses the full width of the image cell when recording video, creating a unique look as medium format cameras have a much larger image cell than most cameras used in film production. The camera can record in F-Log2 format, with an extended dynamic range of up to 13 stops, for files with high tonality and width, offering more possibilities for post-processing. It's easy to choose which subjects to track while shooting by touching the screen in AF-C Wide / Tracking AF mode. This makes it easier to track the right subject in situations where there are multiple subjects in the frame.

Like many other models in the X and GFX series, the camera can be connected to the ”Frame.io Camera to Cloud” cloud service, allowing video and image files to be uploaded directly to Frame.io, dramatically streamlining the workflow from shooting to editing.

The protective filter, together with the adapter ring, ensures a weatherproof construction of the camera for use in outdoor environments with light rain or dust.

The GFX100RF has a high-resolution (5.76 million dots) electronic viewfinder, and a magnification of 0.84x. The viewfinder has a high refresh rate for tracking fast-moving subjects, better visibility and less distortion from eye movements. The camera's tiltable 3.15-inch LCD screen has a resolution of 2.1 million dots. In the new user interface, the layout of the photo icons has been modified to match the 3.2 aspect ratio of the screen.
