Fujifilm X100VI It’s a camera that has prompted many people to return to using a camera rather than a mobile phone. The X100 series’ iconic design, traditional control dials and hybrid viewfinder make photography a pleasure, and the sixth generation introduces a 40-megapixel sensor, in-body image stabilisation and AI-powered autofocus. This is black version – the camera is also available silver.
40 megapixels in a pocket-sized body
The X100VI’s 40.2-megapixel APS-C X-Trans CMOS 5 HR sensor is the same as that found in Fujifilm’s flagship model, the X-T5. There’s plenty of resolution for large prints and cropping: the camera’s digital telephoto extension offers 50mm and 70mm focal lengths in addition to 35mm, whilst still retaining plenty of pixels in the image. The X-Processor 5 ensures fast performance and clean image quality, even at high ISO settings.
The first X100 with image stabilisation
The five-axis image stabiliser compensates for camera shake by up to six stops. In practice, this means you can take sharp photos handheld in low light, indoors and when shooting cityscapes at night without having to increase the ISO setting – a major advantage for a camera you always carry with you.
The Fujinon 23 mm f/2 with a built-in ND filter
Fixed Fujinon 23 mm f/2 - The lens is equivalent to a 35 mm focal length in 35 mm format, which is a classic choice for street, travel and documentary photography. The built-in 4-stop ND filter allows for a wide aperture in bright sunlight, and the lens’s central shutter is virtually silent and synchronises with the flash even at high shutter speeds.
Hybrid etching – optical and electronic in one
The X100 series trademark is hybrid etching: Using a lever, you can switch between the optical viewfinder, which shows you the real world beyond the frame, and the 3.69-million-dot OLED electronic viewfinder. The optical viewfinder is ideal for street photography, whilst the electronic viewfinder displays the exposure and film simulation exactly as the image will be captured.
20 film simulations – a finished image straight from the camera
Fujifilm film simulations emulate the company’s classic films, such as Classic Chrome, Classic Neg., Acros and the new REALA ACE. They give JPEG images and videos a polished look without the need for post-processing – one of the main reasons for the X100VI’s popularity.
AI-powered focus and video
Object detection tracks people, animals, birds, cars, motorbikes, trains and aeroplanes. When it comes to video, the X100VI records 6.2K30- and 4K60- Video in 10-bit 4:2:2 colour depth, as well as F-Log and F-Log2 profiles. A microphone jack (2.5 mm) and a forward-tilting touchscreen complete the package.
Who is the X100VI suitable for?
The X100VI is ideal for street, travel, family and documentary photographers who want SLR-level image quality in a compact and stylish body. Read our comparison with other premium models, such as the Ricoh GR IV and the Lumix L10: Best digital camera 2026.
Weather protection
The X100VI becomes weather- and dust-resistant when the optional AR-X100 adapter ring and PRF-49 protective filter are fitted to the lens.
