I've been using a pair of Hähnel Captur for 6-7 years now, which sends a signal to the Captur Receiver which in turn triggers the camera. In addition, there has been a Captur Transmitter with which you can trigger the camera as if from the side if you suspect that the target does not hit the ir-beam of the Captur-pair.
The batteries last for a good 24 hours and even a couple of days in summer. Good frost tolerance. At 15 degrees below zero it has been in use for a couple of weeks without any problems. Transmitter has gone dead once. In the rain I've kept the cover on just in case.
I couldn't get it to work. For some reason the focus point locked, and I couldn't move it out of the camera. I replaced it with another product.
