Description
Nikon Z50 – Nikon’s first APS-C (DX) format mirrorless camera
Nikon shows To Canon As for how an APS-C camera is made, the Nikon Z50 marks Nikon’s entry into the world of DX-format mirrorless cameras. It features a new sensor – reminiscent of the D500 – and a body that has been completely redesigned from the ground up. This budget model boasts a 20.9-megapixel sensor. The tilting rear screen makes it easier to take photos in situations that previously required awkward shooting positions, and as it isn’t a fully articulating model, it’s also quick to use.
If you’re looking for a larger Nikon, check out Nikon Z6 and Z7.
More information about the camera here.
The camera boasts an exceptionally streamlined design; the Nikon Z50 is built around the versatile Z-mount. The 20.9-megapixel CMOS sensor, combined with the Expeed 6 processor, performs equally well for both video and stills. Performance is fast and reliable, not to mention eye-detection, even in low light. UHD 4K and Full HD recording at up to 120 fps enables a wide variety of video styles.
Despite its streamlined design, the body is still ergonomic, making it comfortable to use all day long. The high-resolution OLED EVF is handy in bright conditions, and the 180° swivel on the rear screen helps with tricky shooting angles.
The magnesium alloy body is weather-resistant, and wireless image sharing is possible via both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.
High-speed continuous shooting (up to 11 frames per second), combined with autofocus and automatic exposure, ensures that capturing action is effortless. The Z 50 is fully compatible with Nikon’s FTZ mount adapter, so you can also use NIKKOR lenses for digital SLR cameras with an F-mount on this camera.
Equipped with a large 20.9-megapixel DX-format sensor, the Z 50 brings the optical advantages of Nikon’s mirrorless system to a robust and compact DX-format body. Features inherited from the acclaimed Nikon Z 7 and Z 6 cameras include, for example, Nikon’s large Z-mount and a fast, wide-ranging hybrid autofocus system. The Z 50 also features a high-resolution electronic viewfinder, a tilting touchscreen and a sturdy grip, which makes Nikon’s mirrorless cameras a real pleasure to hold. Thanks to its intelligent eye-detection autofocus, the Z 50 is ideal for portrait photography.
