Leica Camera AG recently named this incredibly bright, F1.2 aperture lens the NOCTICRON. The popular 42.5 mm centre focal length (85 mm on the 35 mm camera) is perfect for taking full, stereoscopic portraits. The large aperture and beautifully smooth outline add even more impact and creativity to your images. A circular aperture formed by nine blades of dimmer blades produces a soft effect in blurred areas when shooting at wide aperture settings.

A newly developed stepper motor ensures smooth and quiet focusing both when taking photos and recording videos. The autofocus is significantly better than phase-difference autofocus when using fast lenses with a lower F-value. When you attach a lens to the LUMIX G, you can take advantage of a highly accurate and fast contrast-based autofocus system.

An aperture adjustment ring in the lens barrel allows direct and clear control of the aperture setting. The sophisticated metal construction, which also includes a lens hood, deservedly bears the prestigious LEICA name. The highly reliable metal bayonet can withstand frequent lens changes.

Panasonic's nanotechnology surface treatment significantly reduces reflection over the entire visual light range (380-780 nm) through a nanostructured, ultra-low refractive index coating on the lens surface. As a result, the lens produces a very bright image with a significant reduction in ghosting and glare.

Due to the small depth of field typical of large aperture lenses, even a slight hand shake will result in a blurred image. However, the newly integrated POWER O.I.S.
