The Peak Design Carbon Fiber Travel Tripod is so light and sturdy at the same time that you'd think it was illegal to bring this kind of space-age technology to market. Weighing just 1.27 pounds, the cage is designed with compactness in mind. Its folded 39.37cm long (or short). The package takes up very little space when travelling. Unlocking the legs is quick as they can be opened simultaneously for convenience. The maximum height is 152.4 when the centre column is up, and the minimum height is 14cm with the legs spread. In addition, you can place the centre column fully upside down for perfect grassroots photography.

The ballhead is part of the innovative compact design of the tripod. It has no protrusions in the form of screws and levers. The head has a single adjustment knob that allows the ball head to be released and locked in position. The quick release system is compatible with Arca-Swiss discs, but of course also with Peak Design own discs. Arca type L-bars will also fit on the roof of the stand, as long as you first remove the safety screws from the head. The combined weight of camera and lens can be a good nine kilos. It even comes with an adapter for attaching a mobile phone to the tripod.
