This lens has a minimum focusing distance of 11.6″ and a working distance of 5.5″, offering a natural size, 1:1 reproduction ratio that produces accurate images in close-up. The single SLD element used in the optical design helps to achieve high brightness and colour accuracy by preventing various aberrations and colours. In addition, a super-monolayer coating is applied to the lens to control reflections and ghosting, thus improving contrast.

To maximise usability, this lens uses the Hyper Sonic motor for quiet and fast autofocusing and intuitive manual focusing throughout the day. A focus limit switch improves focusing speed and accuracy, while the lens also features an adjustable AFL button and a dedicated focus mode switch. A nine-blade rounded diaphragm ensures smooth bokeh quality, while a weatherproof lens housing makes the lens ideal for use in harsh conditions.
