Well anyway, the Sony E 16-55mm f/2.8 G is a multi-purpose wide-angle zoom that at the long end can take some great potshots. With an aperture of f/2.8 throughout the zoom range, this fast design works great in many situations and gives you a controlled depth of field with excellent depth of field. The lens has 4 spherical elements and three extra-low dispersion elements to control all kinds of aberrations. This results in a bright and sharp image. The Nano AR coating further reduces surface reflections and glare for better contrast when working in bright light and especially backlighting. The optics are good companions to a competent focusing system and there's no skimping on that, the XD linear motor system is fast and silent, and also provides a responsive manual operating experience. The lens is moisture and dust protected, the coatings are fluorine, so moisture won't be an issue.
