Sony FE Planar T* 50mm f/1.4 ZA
Normal glass with Planar design, excellent pattern and creamy bokeh. This glass is the professional standard in the Sony E world. Zeiss' advanced optical design and T* coatings provide a high contrast, colour saturated image without any of the non-typical features such as chromatic aberration and flare. 50mm f/1.4 glasses are not known for their fast autofocus, and this lens is no exception. The motor is indeed a newer technology SSM motor, but there is a lot of glassware to move around. It's safe to say that the autofocus speed is adequate, and the glass is at its best in documentary and potshot photography, for which it is well suited. The dimmer is made of eleven (11) rounded leaves, creating the roundest and creamiest bokeh possible, yum! The undersigned also shot a wedding with this glass, and really enjoyed drawing this one.

Absolutely stunning glass! Drawing is very good even at full aperture, and best of all; colour distortion is very low even when shooting at full aperture. The bokeh is, to my eye, quite usable for e.g. potraits. The glass separates the subject from the background nicely, creating a 3D effect in the images.
The autofocus works well, although it could perhaps be faster for snapshots. Of course, the speed of AF is also influenced by the body (I'm using an A7R2). The glass is reasonably expensive, but I'd say you get good value for money. This is the best 50mm glass I have owned.
