The Swit PB-R160S+ 160Wh Heavy Duty IP54 V-mount Battery, (also known as v-lock) is Swit's more rugged version of Sony's standard v battery. The battery is double encapsulated with a rubber coating, and the connection points are insulated. This achieves IP54 rain protection, as well as 1.5m drop resistance. The battery can withstand heavy use, both structurally and in terms of current discharge. The device is fast charging (6A) and has a digital charge indicator.

The capacity of this beauty is 160Wh / 11,1Ah, which is the maximum capacity you can fit in an aircraft. Inside the case you will find 18 18650 battery cells. This is for example 6 hours of shooting with a basic ENG camera or 2 hours with an Arri Alexa. The batteries can withstand a continuous load of 200W or 16A even at only 1% capacity (peak load capacity is up to 245W). The high quality cells are long lasting compared to other similar cells.

The six-amp fast charge is even 50% more efficient than older methods. The 160Wh PB-R160S+ charges from 0 -> 80% in just over 1.5 hours and is fully charged in less than 2.5 hours.

You can conveniently monitor the backup level from the viewfinder if you are using a compatible Sony/Red camera. Otherwise, you'll have to settle for 8 LEDs on the battery body. Even these show the charge level to within 15 minutes.

The battery has a D-tap slot to power other camera devices. The maximum output of the D-tap is 10A.
