This 45mm focal length offers a slightly wider angle of view than the classic 50mm, and combines excellent light gathering power, stunning bokeh and compact size at an attractive price.

It sits neatly within Canon's RF 50mm trio: the RF 50mm f/1.8 STM (an affordable general lens), the RF 50mm f/1.4 VCM (a professional workhorse) and the RF 50mm f/1.2L (a high-end premium lens). This RF 45mm f/1.2 sits between them, offering f/1.2 speed without the L-series price tag.

Luminosity and sharpness - classic Canon quality

The f/1.2 aperture allows for stunning background blur, low-light shooting without high ISO and exceptional control over depth of field. The STM focusing motor is fast, accurate and quiet - perfect for both photography and video.

The construction is solid and the feel is high quality, even without the L-series weather protection. Shooting feels smooth and responsive, even in challenging conditions.
